back in action...
so, i took an extended leave of absence from livejournal again. dont know why, but i just got out of the swing of it for the past few months. last semester didnt end up going as well as i had hoped. astronomy kicked my ass, but i passed it and still have an acceptable GPA, so i guess all is well. sandy and jeremy got married over break, it was awesome. very surreal though. it was like we had spent months and months planning every little detail and then it was over with in what seemed like a matter of seconds. little avery the ring bearer came down with pnemonia the day before the wedding, so he couldnt be there, but other than that, it went off without a hitch.
since sandy moved out, we now have a new roommate, which i dont know for sure yet how i feel about it. i mean, she seems like a nice girl, but the thing im annoyed about is that she was orignially going to move in next door, because her friend lives there. then the girl next door that was planning on moving out decided not to, so housing assigned katie to our apartment. well the girl didnt end up showing back up, so katie could have lived there after all, and i would have ended up with my own bedroom for the whole semester! oh well though, im sure it will end up just fine. she is a freshman in her first semester, so it has been interesting going through some of her first experiences with her. plus she stays up late, AND likes to listen to country. and she always does my dishes, which i actually feel kind of bad about...i will get around to them sooner or later, but she just does them for me. whatever.
classes this semester: constitutional law, relationship communication, congress and the presidency, abusive communication, the legal environment. 17 credits. kind of a lot. but i think i will be able to handle it. i have friends in most of my classes, so if nothing else i will have that as a reason to go to class. most of them seem like they are going to be pretty interesting, so i am once again excited at the beginning of the semester. lets knock on wood that its better than last semester.
it already is better, in a way. i have an interview tomorrow for a job working as a research coordinator for the comp department. the job posting said that i will be scheduling, facilitating, and taperecording tutoring sessions and then transcribing them. hahaha...im talking like i already have the job. i feel like i do though, seriously. with my experience last summer doing data entry for my dad, i think im more than qualified as a typist, at least. the lady on the phone seemed super nice, so i am looking forward to meeting with her. the job is said to start on monday, and it cant come soon enough!!
i really need $ uber bad! my car decided that it didnt want to be my friend on monday night, and i havent been able to get it to start yet. this is not good. plus i owe my parents money and still have to buy one more book (which i am buying from a guy i know, so that rocks). i was planning on doing something fun with my tax return, like possibly going somewhere for spring break, but it doesnt look like thats going to happen. i should be getting my W-2 from hennepin within the next couple days and i plan to telefile immediately so i can get my refund asap and get my car back in working order.
but anyway, i have tons o' work to get done still tonight so i better get going on that. i think i will try and keep up on the LJ this semester. we will see.
