So Terra and I have been caught in a MORTAL KOMBAT NOSTALGIA FIT because I picked up Mortal Kombat Deception randomly on sale the other day (we haven't played it yet but omg memories!) and because there's a new game coming out in 2011 (LOOKS AWESOMEBAD MAN).
Earlier she was looking at the wiki at work and mentioned that the cover of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe has Batman and Scorpion poised to do battle!!! on it. I told her that now we needed to buy the game just so that I could write slashfic about them. But then I realized--why should I have to buy the game to do that? What is the game really going to tell me about Batman and Scorpion getting it on? THIS ISN'T THE KIND OF THING ONE NEEDS TO RESEARCH. OR EVEN REALLY KNOW THE SLIGHTEST THING ABOUT.
I present to you my story.
* * *
Scorpion locked the door of his apartment and turned to face the man he'd come home with. His gaze took in Batman's broad, muscular chest.
"You're wearing the one with the nipples," he said, huskily.
"I am now," Batman replied.
The two men chuckled. Batman couldn't help the small, wry smile that twisted his lips. Sure, his parents were dead, but maybe that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy a connection like this with another man. After all, Scorpion's entire clan was dead. Perhaps this was meant to be. Batman's smile became more sincere, and he was sure he could see the warmth in Scorpion's eyes too, though that may have just been the fact that Scorpion's head was on fire.
There was a brief, easy silence, in which both men looked as though they were considering speaking. When they did, it was in unison:
" . . . I'm not taking off my mask."
Another chuckle bubbled out of Batman's throat. "Secret identity . . . "
"And it's really just for the best that mine stays on, for a lot of reasons."
The two men smiled.
"Get over here," Scorpion said.
