So, this is why I haven't finished Nanowrimo or made progress today.
My Closet ate me.
I almost had my clothing storage situation under control a while back, then my SIL dumped two hefty bags full of clothes on me and things got messy and out of control again. I haven't been able to get at my clothing, I've had a lot of of my medieval garb folded in a laundry basket in the corner of the room, which ended up becoming the base of A Pile. Clean stuff has been staying in laundry baskets. Ugh.
In addition to having Too Much Stuff, my closet just wasn't working with the arrangement the way I had it. My garb was inaccessible. The space on either end of my closet was kinda badly utilized, the shelving there was holding stuff that didn't need to be in a closet.
It took some restraint, but I suppressed the urge to buy an entire closet system. I wandered around home depot, and ended up buying a closet pole and three plastic hooks to add the bar to the wire shelves I already have. I rearranged the wall brackets so that I now have a long hanging bar on one end of the closet, and all the garb is now hung and pushed onto one end. I moved the shoe organizer shelfie thing that had been buried in the deep end and inaccessible to the center.
I went through the clothes ruthlessly and have 4 hefty bags of clothing to send to either Big Brothers/Big Sisters or the Veterans, whichever comes around collecting first. I rearranged a lot of stuff and it took me all day, but I finally have some measure of control back, I think.
My suitcase has a home now, instead of being shoved all over the place to get it out of my way all the time.
So that's the bedroom squared away, now I need to fix the linen closet and craft closet. Raise your hand if you are micro-managing to avoid the elephant in the room.
