Celebrimbor has decided to stay in today, intending to visit Aredhel and see the babies, perhaps, and be waiting in their rooms when Lydia wakes in the evening. He's been wanting to try to hide from his problems, but he's been trying to acknowledge that it's not working and stop, even if facing them hasn't been working all that well either. ( Read more... )

We hope it is! It's a good thing that Pandora is not a very expressive person - she might have managed to destroy the bloody dress and keep the traces of Curufin's attempt on her unlife out of sight.

All the same, she'll wake when the sun sets, and will be as usual, in the doorway, pleasantly tousled and looking... very much as usual, in fact.

Even if inwardly, she's... worried about what her impulsiveness made her do.

He smiles when he sees her at the door, entirely unaware of what passed between her and his father. He goes to embrace and kiss her warmly in greeting. "Good evening, love."

She kisses back, tenderly, a touch more lingeringly than usual, too. "Good evening, my love," she murmurs on his lips. "Has your day been good?"

"Well enough," he says. "I visited my cousins." He embraces her for a moment longer before stepping back to invite her the rest of the way into the room.

She does step in, shakes her hair a little. "Celegorm's wife and her daughters," she says, calmly. "Are they well?"

"As well as they can be. It is always nice to see the little girls." He'll draw her in to sit beside him if she is agreeable. "And it is much nicer to see them than it is to see some others of my family." We're looking at you, dad.

She sits besides him, a hand perhaps slipped in his. "Tell me, love."

Inwardly, she's ... almost cringing.

He just shrugs. "Nothing more than usual," he says. He hasn't mentioned to her the last time he and his father spoke, has he?

We don't recall that he has, indeed. "Tell me all the same, if only to exorcise it, Carus," she says, softly, and reaches to touch his hair.

He sighs. "Grandfather told him to try to make peace with me. I think I'd prefer not speaking with him at all, than have him do something like this when I doubt he means a word of it."

"It's hard to tell, with him," she says softly. "But if I told you that he -- may mean it, next time?"

Why would he mean it, how would you know that he will mean it? "...You have spoken to him, recently?"

She can't lie - not to him. "On two occasions," she replies, slowly. "His mind was in some turmoil."

And in greater chaos at the end of the second conversation, oh my.

He winces slightly. "...What happened?" What did he do now?

She's trying not to wince. Really. "I could feel that he was -- unhappy."

"I am not sure that I have ever seen my father truely happy. Did he do anything?"
