Celebrimbor is as usual in his forge, in a much better mood than one might expect from him. The precious metals his uncle found for him have been melted into small bars and stacked on a shelf, gemstones are sorted by type and most have been put into small bags and shelved next to the metals to keep them together and out of the way as he works. Look! A cousin you haven't seen yet ! She may be walking up the path, and she will pause, curiously, when she hears the familiar sounds of a forge.

She's not seen Kurvo's son, since she arrived, and she has a fondness for him, if only by regard for his father - she'll be coming around with a wide grin and a wreath of golden leaves she plucked on her way.

"Good afternoon, cousin!"

"Cousin Irisse!" He's surprised to see her there, but smiles as he comes over to take her hand and kiss her cheek in greeting. "It's good to see you."

"It's good to see you too." She squeezes his hand, kisses his cheek back. "You look well."

"I am well." And he actually is for once, it's weird. "How are you?"

"I'm fine." She flashes the cousin a grin, and yes, she is. Short term memory is neat to have, when you're Finwean. "You were busy, is this a bad time to visit?"

"No, not at all! I'm nearly finished with this one, anyway." He grins. "What brings out here?"

"Just a walk. Moryo said the woods were safe, so I thought I would explore... I had no idea you were out here, but I'm glad I found you."

"I'd found this forge, it took me months to put it back in working order." He looks around the small building proudly. "I'm usually out here."

She walks around joyfully - and without fear - exploring the forge.

"It's small, but for one smith, it will do well. You have worked hard, I am sure, but it was worth it."

"Yes, it will do. I can always make it larger later, but to start with I was happy to just stop the roof leaking, and repair the holes in the walls." He grins and puts an affectionate hand against the wall.

She laughs, a little.

"Oh, you seem to be outright in love with the place, cousin." It's fond, it's joyful.

He laughs as well. "I am. It's not as fine or well-appointed as my forges at Ost-in-Edhel, but it's mine."

Her hand trails on the furniture, almost absently.

"Yours, and you are free... I'm glad. Tell me of Ost-in-Edhel...."

He smiles, remembering, and sits on the edge of his work table to leave the chair if she wants it as he tells her of his city. The smile has faded a little and become sad by the time he finishes. "It's gone, now."

She does take it, and she listens, enraptured, but when his smile fades, she reaches, to catch his hand.

"It is, but you remember it." She smiles, a bit sadly. "I'm sure Gondolin is gone too, and my brother loved it so. We must go on."

He squeezes her hand, nodding when she says that Gondolin must be gone. It went long before his city was established. "I know. and I try."
