If you definitely want weights, there are many companies that make adjustable dumbbells. If you are willing to deal with the hassle of putting plates on and off and the free weights, these are inexpensive enough that trying to find more plates for some other set seems hardly worthwhile: http://www.amazon.com/Lion-Roar-Fitness-Adjustable-Dumbbells/dp/B004UY5CR8/ref=sr_1_11?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1327979575&sr=1-11. If you're willing to pay a lot more, you can get things that are higher tech and possibly more convenient.
