Aah, fate... Such an interesting topic, really... I think there is such a thing, but it's only as 'set' as it can be with how fickle humanity can be... So if it exists, it too must be as ever changing as the world it holds together...
I think there are numerous variables and expressions that can be calculated to determine the likely hood of something happening, but nothing is ever set in stone. One person could change the world.
If you have the means to figure out the 'how' of exactly why events happen, you can easily figure out the most probable outcome of a series of events... However, not just one person, but one thing, regardless of how small can change the events as the world perceives them...
Taking a left turn instead of a right, weather you drink tea or coffee with breakfast one morning... Every little thing.
It is. But that's the precise reason I choose to study in this field rather than others that were recommended to me. If you know your opponent, if you know the probabilities, than you can do anything.
I'm glad you're having this discussion with me. The other professor seemed to think I was no better than his first year students.
