Travelling~ ohohoh travelling~ (Ueno/Oshamanbe/Kutchan) --- 160607 PART I

Nov 08, 2007 16:51

Chatted with Lila and I was charged guilty for not updating abt this trip T_T So... here I am! Day TWO (wth? only day 2 when it's already November?!) bascially it's all about traveling~ ohohoh traveling~ For part one I will only update travelling pics~ which happens to be the main part of second day anyway XD

SO the bunch of us left Tokyo for Hokkaido; only 6 of us took the railway route (full use of JR pass!) while the other 3 flew on domestic flight. When changing train that time we were all battling the amazing on-time-on-target system of the Japanese! During the whole journey, we only had time to wander and check out this small town call Oshamanbe while waiting for the small local train to Kutchan... will talk more about it in part two some other day.

Time start: 0742 (Japan time)
FIRST TRAIN = SHINKANSEN, Hayate 24
From UENO (上野) to HACHINOHE (八户)

Shinkansen is heaven to travel in~~~ It's better than airplanes I tell you~ So here's the six of us on board of shinkansen for 3 hours? XDD Yuqian's the one taking e pic thus he's not in here haha.

SECOND TRAIN = Normal average train?
From HACHINOHE (八户) to HAKODATE (函馆)
Another group pic? The one taking this time round is Eric XD Another 3 hours for this ride T_T Most of us ate our bento/onigiri/bread we prepared beforehand and basically slept through the journey... but the change of mood is quite obvious as we slowly head towards north (一路向北!!!)... the scenery and weather outside really left a strong impression and positive impact on me...

THIRD TRAIN = Another normal Average train
From HAKODATE (函馆) to OSHAMANBE (长万部)
This part took us slightly more than 1 hour ba? ^^ Train captain checking our JR passes XD

Zhuyi managed to converse with this nice Japanese lady and she treated us to red bean paste snack (something like muachi but in small rounded pieces packed neatly covered in the paste) :D

FOURTH TRAIN = Small local train
From OSHAMANBE (长万部) to KUTCHAN (俱知安)
Surprisingly it took us 1 and half hours (I thought it'd be shorter) ^^V It's quite fun though and the scenery/feeling is vv nice n relaxed! Although it seems like there aren't alot of stops but because of alot of winding paths and mountains, the distance covered is quite great? And the seats aren't really comfortable but still acceptable? XDD

Guess who took this pic?

And we saw this guy feeding his dog opposite us XD The only entertainment during this part of the ride? Lol, but the dog is really well trained~ doesn't step out of its cage at all! Thus this is the best shot we could get...

Time end: 1800 (Japan time, when we arrived at Kutchan)
Last transport of the day = Niseko Izumikyo's Van
From KUTCHAN (俱知安) to LIBERTY BELL (our cottage)
