my meeting at the unemployment office is at 13:00 today, but we’re actually leaving at 9:00 since my wife’s meeting there is at 10:00. i woke up at 3:00 and the office wants you to give them a sample of your CV and cover letter (btw in sweden it’s like japan, you’re supposed to write a separate CV for each type of job you’re applying for, so technically i should have no language stuff on my CV if i’m applying to work at a restaurant).
so i fixed up my CV and applied to two jobs (barista-work, yet another thing i have no experience in) while writing a sappy cover letter about “i’m from seattle and all my family and friends have worked as baristas it would be nice to work as one i have fond memories”.
tagging the bottom of the CV with “btw i have -11 sight and can’t drive a car” is always going to screw my chances though… well, at least now i have a sample cover letter to give the stupid job office. also for the first time, i wrote a :-) smiley in my email when i sent in the job application. i’ve tried everything before, even writing my stuff in double english and swedish. everything except smilies.
