It seems like tradtional people everywhere used sinew to sew their leather clothing, from what few countries I've looked at so far. Though I also see people saying to use strong fishing wire or dental floss, both of those are just substitutes for sinew! And then some people say to use linen thread but I don't know how well that'd hold up in comparision, and in general I read the complaint of one lady where she was trying to sew traditional shell pieces on and they kept cutting her thread so I really think something tougher is the way to go... not that I plan on putting shells on, but if I'm putting all the effort in then the tougher the better!
There's fake sinew thread as well but it just feels so... I mean... if I'm going all out and making stuff in the first place I want to at least try doing it "right" once, it's more fun that way. And I hate plastic.
In general I'm pretty excited as I had no idea they decorated their shoes like this, and I had been lamenting the fact that salmon leather is pretty ugly, so now I can cover it up haha.
