The Beginning

So, college is supposed to be a New Beginning, a chance to break free from all of the shit that has restricted you in high school. And high school was a lot of shit, in my opinion. I loved my teachers, though they didn't exactly make it easy for me to fly through. I went to the beautiful and prestigious Catholic school tucked in the hills of Portola Valley. Monks could be spotted at any time of day, cutting roses, petting the cats that made our campus their home, or councelling a stressed out student. And the student body. A collection of wealthy caucasions, as well as the peppering of Asian's(really from Asia). It was like Menlo, only the wealth was, for the most part, understated. Only seen in the sports cars, clothes and great vocabularies of the youth.
Life was pretty simple...Two kids, three cars, a rabbit. My summers were spent taking tennis or horseback riding lessons, or when I was younger, intense gymnastics. Vacations to Europe, Hawaii, and we've been to a great number of the United States. I always had good christmas's and birthdays, even when I didn't realize it. I was very loved, and the love was very well demonstrated. Family dinners, hugs, phone calls. I lived the ideal life.
Of course I suffered from many of the poor little rich girl problems...occasional bouts of bulimia, self injury and general self esteem problems.
