Some Kind of Update

I'm almost done painting the garden figurines/pots of a squirrel, owl, 2 buckets, an urn, and the stand part of a birdbath.

I'm about halfway through 1984. I haven't really decided whether I like the book or not. I do like the concept of a "negative utopia" or whatever they call it. Winston though, he's just weird. Oh, and Julia is just so dumb! "Dear" this and "dearest" that. Ughhhhh! Why did those two ever hook up?! I hate their whole romance thing right now! It would be more interesting if she really were spying on him. I just knew this would happen.

Ugh, I hate hypocrites. I hate the phrase, "We should hang out more." It pretty much means... well whatever, I don't know. It's just too bad that my friends have other friends that I am either just not friends with, hate, or are apparently more accessible to the friends. It always happens this way. Yes,  phones do work both ways. Some people are just more fun than others, and have different ideas of what "fun" is. That's what it is. I have a much different idea of what "fun" is than most people. People may overlap their idea of "fun" with my idea of "fun", but there are still some differences. Then what do you do when you're in a situation with a group of people and you're not having fun, and someone knows you're not, but you don't want them to know, and they try to cater the situation to you? Or when you're controlling a situation and you know someone isn't having fun? I just avoid those situations. Then again, I have a very different lifestyle and familial obligations than others. So, that doesn't help either.
What to do, what to do, when you know people are having fun without you!
