Gencon in total cost around £1k last year including flights, hotel, spending money and tickets.

Entry price is about $60 for the four days with events generally being just a couple of dollars per scheduled game. The venue is huge, it covers all of central Indianapolis, a massive convention centre and about 5 surrounding hotels. It takes over the city.

Last year we didnt play any CCG's. I played quite a lot of poker. Early registration is really important to get into the games you want. You can get invovled in pick up games but that can be very dependant on who is around.

The trade hall is huge and contains everything you might ever want in gaming as well as masses of artists. Gencon is where most companies make their big new releases.

There is also an auction running for about 3 days with rpg's, boardgames and minis.

Given the exchange rate last year we were able to eat out like kings on our stay. I think I had a different sort of deliviously cooked steak every day.

Cottagecon last year was great, it really focused the players on what we were doing and make for an excellent experience.
