My Nino-love Knows No Bounds

This is a fairly basic pimp post. But makes a nice intro to the members. Despite the fact that they're a boy band... I'd reccomend skipping the music until you've gotten to know and love them. Focus on the YouTube goodies. HI-LARIOUS.

While idly avoiding studying by randomly daydreaming of potential fics, I started to wonder what would have happened to Saito, Nino's character from Letters From Iwo Jima. I started to do some research into POWs from that battle and found that the total number fell between 200 and just barely over a 1,000 from the 22,000 Japanese force.
This of course, led from one link to another and I found an article more concerned about WHY we, as Americans, wanted Iwo Jima in the first place. And how the battle resulted in the bombing of Hiroshima. Maybe not resulted, but influenced, certainly.
And now... twenty minutes and a bathroom break later, I've completely lost my train of thought, except that aside from the specifics of knowing names and dates, I really, really love history.
