I'm a sucker for strong piano. Despite the singer's really awful name, this one is good.
2. Shades of Gray, Waking Ashland
More piano. Plus, I like the singers voice and it has a nice melody.

3. Can't Stop, Mozella
Pretty little love song. It's simple and sweet. You speak to my soul like you've known it before.
4. At The Other End of the Leash, The Paperchase
This song is wildly disturbing, but it moves me.
Like a pretty girl in a wheelchair
That still claims she fell down the stairs
But if he touches you again
With those grubby little hands
I’ll have to break them
5. 18th Floor Balcony/Hidden Track (It's Just Me), Blue October
I love Blue October. The lead singer has a very unique voice and raw lyrics that make me sit up and listen. The first song is a quiet, pretty love song and it makes me happy. And the other, it's just the lead singer and a piano...and it speaks to the place I am in my life right now. It's sad and hopeful all at once.

6. Mad World, Gary Jules
So I heard this first on a commercial for a video game and I immediately stopped what I was doing to listen. It's just one of those songs. I'm working on a Firefly Vid to it, but... no where near done yet.
I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
that the dreams in which I'm dying
are the best I've ever had.
7. Hide and Seek, Imogen Heap
Completely unique vocals without accompanyment of any kind (that I can tell).
Oily marks appear on walls
where pleasure moments hung before
the takeover, the sweeping insensitity of this still life
8. Kidding Ourselves, Stabilo
I wish I had more Stablio songs, because I love their style. Very similar to Blue October. My favorite of theirs is Flawed Design, but alas, I no longer have this one. However, this song is just as good.

9. Casimir Pulaski Day, Sufjan Stevens
It's just sad and beautiful. It's a deeply personal song for the singer, and it shows.
On the floor at the great divide

10. Pretty Girl (The Way), Sugarcult
This song sounds like so many others. But I just love the lyrics.
She's beautiful as usual
with bruises on her ego
11. She's My Ride Home, Blue October
This is one of my favorite songs simply because he says "Honey." I don't know why that tickles me so, but it does.

I refer you to my current header. For me, this is the River song of all songs out there.

I like this song simply because it's complicated.

One of the few songs that just makes me happy to hear.

15. The Freshman (acoustic), The Verve Pipe
This song came out when I was a Freshman in high school, and I've never been able to let it go.

I don't know anyone who's heard this and not loved it. It's long, and pretty and emotional and just... guh.

1. First Breath After Coma, Explosions in the Sky
This is sans-lyrics, and I love Explosions in the Sky. I've got six or so of their songs in my writing playlist, they help me focus.
2. Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades, Brand New
I used this song as a basis for one of my Danny/Rebecca LJ banners based on Deliberate Lies. I love it for them.
He is the lamb, she is the slaughter.
She's moving way too fast and all he wanted was to hold her.
Nothing that he tells her is really having an effect.

My favorite song by this group.

4. You Don't Know Me, Jann Arden
This is a remake but one of my favorites. Her voice is unique and the song is *sigh*.

5. Time After Time, Erin Bode
A zillion people have remade this song, but this is my favorite version. It's got a hint of jazz to it. I have no idea who it is she's singing with.
6. I Will Follow You Into The Dark, Death Cab for Cutie
I love these guys. They have a sincerity about them. This song is kind of morbidly romantic.

A song about lost love. It just makes me ache...there's something so sincere about Justin's voice.

This is one of those songs that you listen to while you're driving and just belt out.

Another simple, happy, loving song.

The title sounds bad...but really, it's not like that.

11. Magic, Ben Folds Five
This was another of those songs that when I first heard it, I froze and could do nothing but listen. It's sad and beautiful. The bass is just mesmerizing.

It's really not as morbid as it sounds. I like this one more because it's catchy than for any other reason.

It's just good and I am so tired of writing down the reasons I like these songs. If you've read down this far, I am in awe and amazed.

I heard these guys live with Snow Patrol this past fall before I ever got this song. They were excellent and this song just caught me.
