So this is my fanfic round up for 2005. And because I'm feeling self-centered and egotistical... and bored. And trying to procrastinate on writing... I'll throw in some memes too.
1) Tell me your favorite fic of mine and why? And I'll tell you what I was thinking when I wrote it.
2) Pick any fic, and I'll tell you what happened after "The End".

Trouble.
Short, sweet and it's the one I remember most often at weird, weird points in my day.
So... 1) and 2) for "Trouble"... HIT ME.

2) After The End. She'd tell him it was a mistake, she was just feelin' lonely and it wouldn't happen again. Jayne would accept that, because what else can he do? She would avoid him for awhile, but she'd keep thinking about it, and thinking about it and watching Jayne. And Jayne would be watching her watching him. Tensions mount.
There would be a job... a close call, and after, Jayne and Kaylee would collide. Hot, wild sex would ensue daily there after. They would try and hide it from the rest of the crew, but they would know and pretend they didn't. Wash might make inneundo's that Jayne wouldn't understand, and Mal would be waiting for it to burn out. Jayne and Kaylee would act like it was all physical while slowly falling in love.

2) All the Tools for the Job. What happens after "The End"? Hee, the girls decide they need to hunt down the rest of the photos from the shoot. Unbeknownst to Mal; Kaylee, Inara, Zoe and River use their connections (and in River's case mind reading abilities) to contact the publisher and get the rest of the photos sent to them.

2) Hmm, what about Pirates or Teatime? After either (or both, if you feel like talking. ^^) of these events, what would happen between those two, if anything?

She has a huge thing for Wash, so we incorporated him as much as possible. What I was thinking when I wrote it? Mostly, that I was bored at work. And I wanted some of Jayne and Kaylee in a tense situation where they can bring out the best in eachother. I wanted Jayne protective...more protective than just a platonicly, and I wanted Kaylee to take some strength from Jayne, where she'd lost some of it with Early.
2) After Pirates Jayne stays in the engine room with Kaylee for as long as he can before she kicks him out to go to bed. I think Jayne would hover around Kaylee. Trying to be subtle so that she wont notice, but he's probably not as careful as he could be. There'd be angst, as he watched Kaylee and Simon get closer, but at the same time, he'd watch. Unable to look away. Bringing us up to Teatime where Inara finally ( ... )

Aww, poor Jayne indeed, that's very depressing. Still, it's true to the show and romantic in a tragic sort of way. I think I like that and can definitely believe it about their relationship. Thanks for sharing! :D

1) What I was thinking when I wrote Bel Canto and Ain't No Soldier.
Bel Canto, I was just...rocked by the BDM. I wrote it because I think I needed the story, for myself. To solidify that two of their own may have fallen, but the crew still had each other. And even though Zoe was in the most pain, they all still felt it. And they were together. It was as much cathergic for the characters as it was for me.
Ain't No Soldier was imspired by another fic actually. I'm ashamed to admit I can't remember which one. As an aside, the author had Mal take Serenity back to War. Myself, I couldn't imagine Mal risking his ship and all the people on it for his own personal mission. I thought it made more sense for him to go on his own. And of course, Jayne would tag along. Because as he says, someone's gotta look after Mal's fool ass. Originally it was meant to be only one part, and then it kinda snowballed from there....to a dead end. I plan to come back to it, but as Jayne also says "What you plan and what happen ain' ( ... )

LOL Buttercup, hee! Jayne, Jayne, Jayne. Sweet.
Well, with regard to sequels to Ain't no Soldier, I just hope you write something, whether its in your plan or not. Because really, how else are those kids gonna learn 'less they are taught? And whoever would have thunk that Jayne could be a good teacher.
Good stories all around. I'm very pleased that I found your blog and your other stories. Thanks for taking the time to give some insight in to your writing.
