To pay or not to pay

...so my LJ account expired and I was all set for automatic payments, except that I had to cancel the card it was set for and it didn't go through.

Now I'm second guessing whether or not to pay for service. I so rarely, rarely post anymore. I comment on other LJs frequently, I guess.

Anyone else coming up against this dilema? Has anyone stayed on a free account? How is it working for you?
