EEEEEEEE!!!!!

So the last few weeks have been really rough at work. With co-worker relations and passive-aggressive behavior and a co-worker who WONT DO THEIR JOB AND THAT'S SOMEHOW MY RESPONSIBILITY.

And whenever things get tough, I start fantasizing about finding new work. So I was randomly looking through CL postings for medical assistants that I would never apply for because I love the docs I work for too much to leave them for a lateral move.

I stumbled across a post for a medical assisting instructor. At a school 15 minutes away. That my roommate recently graduated from. I got a call yesterday from the Director of Faculty and set up an interview for today.

It went FANTASTIC. I couldn't have imagined it going better (except for when she introduced me to the Director of the entire SCHOOL, I got a little nervous then). The invited me back for a Demo Teach next Friday. Which means I will actually have a 15 minute lesson with ACTUAL STUDENTS. WHICH THEY WILL BE EVALUATING.

alianora will be visiting at that time. She may sleep in Friday in this case.

We talked for over an hour. I felt like I had a very good impression, I asked really good questions. I am VERY excited.

The downside: they have a few positions open.

One is a part time, 18hr/week Billing and Coding class. Which is not my strong suit and goes from 5:30-9:45. Which means I'd be working close to 60 hours a week, because there's no way I could quit my day job in that case.

...though, I could find another part time position in another office if I REALLY wanted to do this.

The other is Substitute teaching for them. But I'd only be available nights. Which, if they offer me nothing else, I would totally accept. Because... I mean... how sweet would that be? Extra money, fun job, and my foot in the door if something else opens up.

The LAST is what I really want, full time medical assisting instructor. Mornings/Nights I don't care. The problem is they're expanding the number of courses they're going to teach this fall. Previously they had a day class and a night class. They are potentially going to have two day classes and/or two night classes and at this point, they're still trying to figure out their Staffing needs in that arena. How many classes, how much faculty they'll need to cover them all, when they'll be offered. Etc etc...

No discussion as to salary yet. Largly because they haven't actually offered me a job and two because they don't know what position they'd be wanting to offer me.

*squirms* I am so excited!
