Day 25

Today my cousins Marlena and Mia joined us. Marlena brought a friend Jessica and Mia brought her son Elijah who is really really intelligent for a 9 year old.

We went to the Aquarium of the Pacific which was awesome. They had a gross octopus which moved around alot with it's tenticles. They actually move very fluidly and gracefully but I still think they're scary.

This aquarium had an awesome jellyfish display. There were so many displays of all different types of jellyfish and all different shapes.

It also had an area where you could touch the rays and starfish and coral. There was one ray that just hogged the touching and kept going to Mia. It was pretty funny to watch.

After the aquarium we strolled along the dock and came across an 'Outback Steakhouse' which was so not Aussie it was shameful. They put ranch sauce on everything and claim that their dish 'The Bloomin Onion' was a 'true blue' Aussie dish even though I had never heard of anything like it.

My cousin Mia ordered this Bloomin onion just to see what it was. When it came out it looked pretty spectacular. They cut the whole onion in such a way that it splays out like a lotus flower. Then they batter it and deep fry it and that's your you beaut Aussie onion. WTF mate.

So our last stop was the Queen Mary which is an enormous ship that looks like te Titanic. It was a warship in WW2 and then got turned into a cruise ship and then got retired and they permanently dry-docked it and turned it into a hotel with raps of restaurants and bars inside.

This ship was really big. I took photos but they don't do it justice. It was a damn big ship.

Also the Queen Mary is apparently haunted and during halloween they do ghost tours on the ship.

To finish the night, my cousin-in-law joined us for dinner at Bubba Gump which is a restaurant chain based on Forrest Gump the movie. It had some pretty cool concepts.

The sauce and salt and pepper were all in a shrimping bucket. The cocktail list was on a binder attached to a ping pong racket and there were Forrest Gump sayings all over the table. The directions to the toilet were number plates with 'I gotta p' on them!

To top it off, there was a flip card on the table that had a green Run Forrest Run sign on it. If you needed anything from your waiter you could flip it to a sign that said Stop Forrest Stop! It was a pretty great night!
