Dramas with feel-good endings: The Shawshank Redemption. Tim Robbins plays a guy wrongly imprisoned for the murder of his wife. And stuff happens in jail. The Man Without a Face. Mel Gibson's an ex-teacher who's horribly scarred over half his body, and he ends up befriending a boy in need of some tutoring.
Really depressing romance: Legends of the Fall. A young Brad Pitt is a really attractive cowboy who's in love with his brother's gal on a scenic ranch in the early 1900's (I think).
Hugh Grant (!?!): About a Boy. Hugh Grant's an asshole who watches tv and likes to shag women all the time. Notting Hill. Hugh Grant's a nice guy working in a bookshop who manages to fall in love with a huge American movie star (Julia Roberts). But. I think everyone has seen this one.
Great car chase: The Bourne Identity. Jason Bourne (Matt Damon ooooh) is being hunted, but he has no idea why and can't remember anything that happened to him.
ALSO see everything made by Pixar and re-watch all the old Disney movies you can ever find. AND watch some of the Dreamworks movies too. (Anastasia is a personal favorite of mine.)
I just reread everything I wrote, and the "huge American movie star" comment made me picture Hugh Grant macking it with a 430 lb. woman on a blanket at the park.
