Arting in the mother-motherland?

So yesterday I went for the presentation on our school's exhange program with the prestigious Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, as advertised by Yu Ji.
I have to admit I did it to show my support and because I was curious but after seeing photos of the place and the classes and tons of other artwork I'm thinking hmm... maybe.
What really caught my eye were the Chinese brush painting and life painting classes.
The fashion classes there look fun too.
A lot of the time also I was thinking of the awesome "Red Hot" show that I went to earlier this summer, which was really inspiring.
Dorm living and food don't look too bad and downtown Guangzhou and even HK aren't far away at all.
It'll satisfy my urge to travel and live abroad for a bit, I'll be forced to actually learn Chinese (I'm getting fed up of not being able to speak that much and it'll make my family happy), and I'll be getting a top-notch learning experience, not to mention in a whole new way.
I dunno... this whole process will take awhile so I may almost be done with the illustration program by the time I go (if and when I'm accepted that is).

On the other hand, I'm still chickenshit about a lot of things especially if it's something as huge and scary as this... so it's nice to think and dream about and probably not make it happen on my end.
I can just take Chinese classes as a compromise and go to London instead for fun, lol.
