BACC Kengroin - Alverdine
It starts! So this is my Build-A-City Challenge in the land of Kengroin. A friend and I once determined that "ken groin" sort of sounds like a place name, and I wanted to avoid a theme for this challenge. Themes make me very OCD, and if it doesn't go my way, BANG! I delete it. So free and easy it is.
First family in the rotation is Ardis Alverdine. I'm using a baby name generator for both first and last names. And it, as you will see, likes to give me some weird ones. So for any sim it's up to me to name, I will use the generator.
The Veronaville template is full of hills and valleys that aren't exactly easy to work with. This means that Ardis as an interesting lot. I thought she might like her own fishing hole. The little plateau at the bottom is the only level terrain on the lot, and only because I made it so.
Ardis has a large, simple layout, mostly because expanding this layout is going to be less than fun. Maybe I should just build up for her.
That is a steep slope!
Ardis is a Fortune/Popularity sim who hopes to earn $100,000, 7/5/8/4/1. I really need to get cracking on the owned business thing. It's not something I've really done before. Here's hoping I'll embrace this learning experience.
Garden Club Lady. What triggers the Garden Club to autonomously introduce themselves? Ardis was the only one to receive her.
Ardis has a very intense face. She has elf ears, too. Alverdine means "elf", so I thought it appropriate.
And yes, she's even intense on the toilet :P
Since I had to deleteallcharacters to get townies with my face defaults, I have Ardis stop every walkby I can. Brandon and Rani here were the only townies to show up Ardis' full first week.
Hehehe. Sitting at the chess table just to talk. She has both a kitchen table and a sofa, too :P
Ardis isn't very good at having low cooking skills. We need a few fires to unlock a position in Law Enforcement, and Ardis isn't helping. She doesn't even burn her food.
The mail carrier has one of my favourite face templates. Ardis doesn't really have strong boltage for anyone yet. She's a bit to platonic for my liking. Then again, I can't see her swooning over anyone, not even the scrummy mailman. His name is Lian Smith, by the way.
Intense face! She's none too fond of having a football whipped at her head.
Hehehe.

Brandon's the only one who goes for the bongo drums. He's so adorable:)
Rani looks a bit amused. I make quite a few mean sims, but I rarely catch them cheating. The only other sim I can remember cheating someone at chess was my simself :P I am not clever enough to cheat someone at chess in real life.
I left that dug up old bone there so you'd go for that instead :(
Why all this mess? And I have never seen roaches in a house before. But, they're colourful. I was wondering if these were bugs that had escaped from Ardis' bug box.
Sigh. And here I thought this bull mastiff was going to be a good dog.
So, that was Ardis' first week. She was quite boring. She's into nature now, with all the fishing and digging I had her do. And now she goes on hikes every morning. She keeps rolling the want.
For this first week, I'll post stats at the end of the rotation, though nothing happened anyway :S
