Oooh! Very lucky. I hope you had luck finding a job? I'm job hunting right now myself. I'm hoping to get a job at the local ski resort since they'll be officially opening in November.
"Group Service Representatives
Full-time, seasonal. Group Service Representatives will communicate with group leaders to organize all facets of a group’s trip to Sugarloaf and interact with on-mountain departments to coordinate the group’s stay including food and beverage, tickets, lodging, Perfect Turn etc. "
This is the job I'd REALLY like but sadly I'm WAY out of practice skiing (though my digital skills would most definitely meet/exceed their standards) and to do this job you need to be able to ski the expert trails:
"Snow Reporter
Full Time, Seasonal - The Snow Reporter is responsible for drafting and delivering mountain conditions to on and off mountain sources. Duties include, but are not limited to, preparing accurate and up-to-date snow and conditions reports in creative and compelling ways, updating Sugarloaf.com and other websites, preparing the snow phone message, and shooting captivating digital photography and video of mountain activities. Additional duties may also include assisting in other communications efforts such as drafting press releases, hosting media representatives, helping with on-mountain events, and responding to direct inquiries from guests. The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communications skills, willing to work a flexible early morning schedule, and be able to safely ski or ride expert terrain. Experience in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier, as well as familiarity with social networking sites is preferred."
Since this is such an old post I'm hoping you find a nice job that has helped you save up. I really wish I could take a trip but my money has to be split into 3... Spending, Savings, Re-pay Bills/Student loans. Curse Bills and Student loans! ;_;
Also... if you don't mind, where in Cali do you live? I used to live in Santa Barbara (from when I was a baby till 98) and also north of Sacramento in Chico for a while (Sept 08-May 09). :3
XP sadly I'm still looking, I tried over summer but no one wants to hire a teenage without any experience! so I think "How the hell am I suppose to gain any without having a job first!!" curses.... in the meantime I"m selling candy at my school XD which gets me more than none
I worked at a Burger King in high school, fast food places always hire teenagers so if you haven't tried applying at any recently I'd suggest that. Also large retail places like Wal*Mart and Target and K-Mart sometimes does. Another good option might be trying to apply at clothing retail places or other stores at a mall. Those are some places off the top of my head who usually will hire teenagers with little/no other work experience.
