Hmm. I plan on getting a canning setup rigged pretty soon. I can put any spare veggies and fruit in storage! My great uncle is a mad canning ninja, and got me thinking about storing food long term.
(This weekend was my family reunion, you see. Utter madness. Somehow no one got shot or killed)
I can also can...MEAT.
Yes, meat.
I found a shooting range here in kirkland that goes out to 200 yards. That's basically sufficient to sight in my rifle. I'd prefer at least 500 yards, but you have to go farther out of town for that.
I've also been reading up on the hunting regulations in WA-state. I've never done any hunting down here. I plan to change that this year.
Hopefully get the rifle sighted in real soon and do some scouting in August. Then roll out in October for the late season and bag my self a nice deer. A nice fat Mule Deer with some luck.
Pack back all the meat. Smoke some. Can some more for storage. Fill my freezer for the rest of the winter. :D
I can also take out one Elk per season too, which would feed us for the next few seasons. However, I know nothing about hunting elk. I'll have to do some more research there.
I can also enter a raffle for a ticket to hunt goats and mountain sheep! Now that would be the ultimate trip. I'm still reading on the exact areas and regulations. And I still want to do the Mighty Goat Hunt up in AK one of these winters...
Anyone up for tromping around in the mountains with some high power rifles? :D
