What is the single most important thing in my life? This is a question I cannot answer. I can tell you things that aren't: Love, hatred, cars, computers, video games, education, a career, my job, and an infinite number of others. If any of these things were really important I would be willing to risk my life to obtain them. I am not, so they are not.
The conclusion that this leads me to is this: I am a coward. I am so afraid that I will mess up my life that I am paralyzed. I cannot reach out and grab. My hands are held fast by my fear of losing. I am ashamed of this, and it is truth.
So my prayer is this: Lord, come to me and take my cowardice. Take my fear and my self hating ways and lift me up that I might be a better person and as such serve you better. Amen.
