Okay, theoretically this one should be a piece of cake. Theoretically...
Our players for this one are #6 Clark Kent, #12 Napoleon Solo, and #1 Bruce Wayne. Let's see... I think it is impossible to resist the temptation of using the current DCEU movie versions of Clark and Bruce, and movie reboot Napoleon Solo. But maybe with AU tweaks along the way.
Backstory: Man of Steel didn't happen, not exactly that way anyway. The discovery of the Kryptonian scout ship had a connection to Wayne Enterprises. Curiosity fired up, Bruce set out for Ellesmere Island to be on site. Driving along, he noticed this guy out in the snow and cold, trying to hitch a ride, and pulled over to give him a lift.
Yada yada, stuff happens. Clark discovers his heritage but Zod doesn't show up, but Bruce doesn't know Superman is Drifter!Joe the hitchhiker he picked up. Superman makes his debut but has yet to meet Batman as the following scenario unfolds.
Bruce recognizes Drifter!Joe when they run into each other at some Metropolis gala hosted by Lex Luthor. "You clean up well," he says. The other stares back at him, no glint of recognition. "What?" Before anything can be clarified, Intergang crashes the party. Their target is Bruce, CEO of Wayne Enterprises. Anticipating Superman will turn up to thwart them, they've come armed with kryptonite-tipped bullets that could be lethal to the Man of Steel as well as ordinary civilians.
Clark does appear and is wounded. Lois, there to cover the event, gets him away. In the process, they run smack into a super sized Russian named Illya Kuryakin.
"Cowboy?" he says, adding to the confusion. But no, "Not cowboy," he as quickly concludes. One, because Superman, and two, because Napoleon--who Bruce mistook for Drifter!Joe--comes charging up about then.
"Well, this is an interesting development," he observes and Lois mentions maybe they could all get the hell out of here.
What it all means: Napoleon and Illya, modern day versions, are agents with UNCLE. Intergang has teamed up with THRUSH; they both want the technology Wayne Enterprises found via the scout ship (they don't believe the official, and true, story that the ship took off by itself and disappeared).
Napoleon had infiltrated THRUSH and Plan A had been for him to leverage that into subsequently infiltrating Intergang and stopping them all. If they still think he's one of them, and given he and Superman bear an uncanny resemblance to each other, with the addition of Superman being (mostly) invulnerable, maybe they can work that to get Bruce out safe and sound.
And... I don't know what happens then! ::cries a little::
Umm, yes, upon further consideration, perhaps temptation should have been resisted.
