All righty, then... ::ahem::

Our players are #3 Lois Lane and #5 Clark Kent (Smallville incarnations), #8 Emma Swan from Once Upon a Time, and Jane Eyre from, well, Jane Eyre.

Backstory: Gold/Rumpelstiltskin did something that resulted in creating a portal spanning across fictional worlds. Jane Eyre, out wandering the moors after fleeing Thornfield, stumbles through and finds herself in Storybrooke, Maine. Emma, the Charmings, and Belle rally around her and introduce her to life in the 21st century. Which Jane finds she rather likes.

Meanwhile Lois and Clark have been following leads on a story (most likely also something Rumpel did) and have gone to Maine to get to the bottom of everything. What they didn't know before their rental car broke down and stranded them there, however, is that magic, one of the few things Clark is vulnerable to, is rampant in Storybrooke--and that Rumpel has a chunk of blue kryptonite which, according to Smallville lore, takes away Clark's powers. (Unlike gold K, the effects of blue K are only temporary, however.)

So, hmm... David, Hook, Henry, and Regina have a plan to (a) get the blue K away from Rumpel, and (b) make Clark immune to magic so that he can use his powers. As a means of distracting Rumpel, an arm wrestling competition is set up. (Yeah, I don't know why that would interest Rumpel, either. Maybe Belle makes it a condition of reconciling with her?)

Anyway, while David, Hook, and Henry are looking for the blue K and Regina is working on the protective spell, Lois and Clark settle in at Granny's for the competition. Grumpy is taking bets. In the spirit of feminism, Jane sides with Lois. Emma supports Lois but she has to go with Clark because, hey, Superman. (Oh, yeah, the fictional worlds spanning portal could have something to do with Lois and Clark being there. An alternate worlds thing. So that ups the stakes on everything because they also have to work out how to return to their world.)

The competition is heating up. Clark won the first round easily. Too easily. Lois revved her game up and took the second round. The third round has been going on awhile now. Things could go either way (maybe there's something about the magic-laden atmosphere that further debilitates Clark, adding urgency to Regina coming up with that protective spell).

At the climatic moment, as Lois gains the upper hand--so to speak--and smacks Clark's hand down on the table, David arrives and gives Emma the OK sign: they've found the blue K and Regina has her spell ready. Rumpel, sensing the tide has turned, tries to get away but finds himself blocked by Hook and David--at about the same time Clark, recharged and rarin' to go, picks him up by the scruff of the neck and Rumpel finds himself face to face with a demi-god with fire in his eyes.

All is sorted out in the end, Lois and Clark return to their world, Rumpel shuts down the fictional worlds spanning portal, and Jane Eyre is settling in quite nicely in Storybrooke. Snow's gotten her a job at the school, and if she still sometimes longs for Thornfield and Mr. Rochester, well, there are far too many new and exciting things to discover for her to sit around pining for long.

One day, however, while she and Belle are wrapping of their book club meeting, there's a knock at the door and who should be standing there but....

This was great & I found it funny that I picked Jane Eyre who always has been one of my favorite fictional characters.

Thanks for writing it!
