Unexpected visit yesterday

And it derailed evening writing plans but that's okay, because it was one of the few members of my extended family whose company I enjoy. My favorite nephew, K, dropped by with his new wife for a visit. They're having a little in-state vacation, going back to Rifle Park down the road where they got married last year, that sort of thing. It's really good to see K doing so well now. He had some pretty serious problems as a kid, and then compounded those by getting married to alcoholic psycho bitch, but has really been able to turn things around since splitting from her. (Time will tell if the kid he had with her will turn out okay, lots of behaviorial problems, but K's got full custody, thank you God, so there's a chance.) He's always been able to hang onto a positive attitude, never short of a joke -- e.g. "How do you get a nun pregnant? Dress her up as an altar boy." -- and is just fun to be around.

So, that took care of Tuesday.
