Riley O'Dannihugh was many things; smart, handsome, humorous, sarcastic, athletic, handsome, redundant, handsome...

... but, emotional, he was not.

He preferred to deny the existence of things like fear, sorrow, pain, and woe. So, while the rest of the Hogwarts grieved, Riley intended on acting as if nothing had happened. At least, in public, he would. In private, he'd already owled home like every other scared student at school, but Riley wouldn't allow anyone to know that he, too, was jarred by recent events.

This particular afternoon he sat at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall. Silently, he reached into the fruit bowl for an apple, then shined it with the hem of his shirt. As he took a bite, Riley glanced around the hall. Nothing looked off, except he noted that tight groups of friends sat huddled at their tabled, heads bowed while they whispered.

He was about to try and eavesdrop on a group of Ravenclaw's at the next table over when someone tapped him on the shoulder.

"Hmm," Riley turned around in his seat, "What?"
