Ive been w/out my camera for about 2 months and have been trying to remember to send it back to Canon to see if they will repair it for free. My year warranty expired a month after it was up (how convienient right?), anyway I talked to a rep there and she said they wouldnt just cut me off most likely and try and send it in and see what happens. Mind you I got it for free w/ Amazon money from work I won, so wasnt gonna pay to repair it, I would have just bought a new one. Then I got this today:
Dear BRIAN:
We have received your equipment for evaluation and repair. Based on our initial examination, we will start the necessary repairs at no charge to you. You can expect the repair to be completed and returned back to you within approximately 7 business days* from the date shown above. There is no need to respond to this notice.
... YAY! Thanks Canon.
