I was clearly disappointed by what happened in episode 10, I mean, why Jeremiah??? (who is by the way one of my favourite characters). Anyway enough of this, I have some more interesting facts to talk about.
So, as I said before I don't think Lelouch is that original. He's somehow plagiarized, but let me better explain it:
Don't you think that
this is somehow similar to
this one (I took two random pics)?
But let me explain it better with ten reasons (there are more, but I don't want to be that boring):
1) Lelouch uses a fake name (surname is better in this case) because he needs to hide the fact he has survived and he needs to escape from his family (his father mainly). Leon uses a fake name as well, because he has the same needs, pretend to be dead and act in disguise; his father knows his identity but Leon doesn't want to be related to him and he really despise him.
2) They almost look the same (black hair, purple eyes, similar expressions)
3) They both hides themselves under a fake identity: Lelouch/Zero and Leon/Judas.
4) C'mon, Zero's outfit is somehow similar to Judas's one (although Zero has a really bad taste and Judas's mask is almost useless)
5) Both Lelouch than Leon mainly act for their personal justice. In Lelouch's case everything happen because of what happened to Nanaly, although things moved on with different developments. Leon does everything for Marian's sake, even when he converts himself to the "common" justice (as Lelouch does anyway) he is still moved by that particular reason.
6) Under many points of view they share the same personality and the same ideals. Their view of the world, in mostly negative terms is almost the same.
7) They both have childhood friends: Lelouch has Suzaku (who's helpless in his plans, but who still is an important element), Leon has Chaltier (who isn't that helpless XD)
8) They both gain power because of an agreement with someone else: Lelouch with C.C. and Leon with Chaltier (and later on with Elraine, who could be associated to CC as uhm mysterious figure).
9) They have both unique abilities. Lelouch is excellent with checks, Leon is the best swordman of Seingald (although he's the best one in many other activities)
10) They both manipulate people, it's their speciality.
11) I couldn't avoid this, yeah there's this yahoi tendency for both them (Lelouch with Suzaku and Judas with Kyle, yeah because "JUDAS I LIKE YOU" O__O)
I have about 10 more reasons, but yeah I don't want to be hated too much XD
Anyway let me add some speculations.
Leon is very popular in Japan, he's probably as popular as Cloud of Final Fantasy VII is (the reason why he isn't so popular abroad is that TOD was merely distributed), there's almost is a cult about him (I'm not joking, it's true). So this year, in november a new version of TOD was released and BOOM. Once again people is screaming for him. I don't think it's a mystery if fans of Leon (or better Lion XD), like myself, found Lelouch interesting. Anyway I really hope he'll turn out somehow different (but uhm he doesn't have neither half of Leon's dramatic presence or poetry)
So yeah, Lelouch you're not original.
