24 Days of Christmas, 365 Days a Year

Dec 24, 2006 13:44

Today is Christmas eve. Tomorrow is the biggest gift giving day of the year. But I can't help to think of all the things I've already received this year, worth much more than anything that can be given to me tomorrow.

And in respect for this day, December 24th, I'm going to list 24 important things I've already received this year and am truly thankful for:
  1. A nice apartment to live in when I moved
  2. ...that is close to the school
  3. ...and close to those people important to me.
  4. A roommate that I don't have to worry about having crazy parties, bad drugs, or having my stuff stolen.
  5. My logical mind, even if it makes me over analyze things too often.
  6. Maturing as a person.
  7. Gaining confidence in myself.
  8. Knowing that karma likes to balance off the world.
  9. Learning about the faults I had related to relationships and being able to improve up it.
  10. Not hesitating to get what I want out of life.
  11. Better social skills!
  12. Having friends in my classes, without them, I wouldn't have made it through the semester.
  13. Learning what it is that I value in friendships.
  14. Learning how much people value me.
  15. Learning that my friends are willing to offer me so much more than I ever would have imagined.
  16. Being able to build deeper connections with my friends.
  17. Learning how to appreciate my friends, even if it happens to be in materialistic ways some of the time.
  18. Not being *too* obsessed with my money.
  19. Being able to open up to my parents.
  20. Knowing my parents will always be there for me.
  21. Having a friend who will dirty dance with me (and who is really good at it).
  22. Winning a dirty dancing competition.
  23. A temporary job to help pay off those xmas presents.

  24. And of course, for the amazing friends I have and depend upon.

For those I hold dear, remember that I'll always be around for you when you are at a low point, need someone to rely on, or are just feeling alone. I hope all of you have an amazing Christmas, and that next year will be everything you could possibly imagine.

I love you all lots.
Heres looking towards an amazing 2007.
