I know! It makes me feel so ... something. It's like throwing a party and all the cool people show up or something.

I never got to squee properly because livejournal broke! A party is necessary. We can pretend I brought homemade pumpkin bread or something.

Yes! I'm not on Tumblr and Livejournal was broken, so I felt totally left out. (used appropriate party icon)

I like how this simile equates us to cool people. Maybe a better comparison would be that it's like throwing a dungeons & dragons tournament and everyone comes in costume.

Because I am so cool, this immediately turned into the Community D&D episode in my head.

Didn't dying-gnome-Abed say his name was Kyle?

"Don't be so pretentious, Kyle."

This is a whole new level of nerd! And I mean that in a GOOD way.

Oh, I'm all kinds of nerd. My mom raised me on Star Trek and started taking me to science fiction conventions when I was 12. And my high school didn't do Model UN :( but it did do Quiz Bowl, and I was all over that.

One of my proudest moments lately was when my 11 year old daughter started describing an elaborate make-believe "game" she'd created that was actually essentially a fan-fiction of the old "Wolverine and the X-men" cartoons she's been watching on Netflix.

She's a 3rd generation nerd.

That is amazing. You have every right to be proud.

My high school nerdery came out in the form of doing every possible form of band and marching band as humanly possible.

Plus, I really need a fic in my life where Abed with Annie and Ben with Leslie both go to the same comic book convention, and Bat-Ben and Bat-Abed can geekily bond over mutual Batman love, and Leslie and Annie can bond over mutual affection for day-planners and general organization.

I would read the hell out of this fic.

I think this fic should also have weird tension between Britta and April (all of it coming from Britta since April wouldn't care), Troy and Andy doing something awesome, maybe with Annie's Boobs, and Jeff hitting on Ann, maybe? Or Tom freaking out about Jeff the same way he freaked out about Justin. Dean/Chris.

And, just for the hell of it, Leonard hanging out with Orin.

Preferably no Chang.

I might have to write this now. On top of the "Liz Lemon and Ron Swanson meet at a 24 hr. diner eating breakfast foods at 2 am." prompted fic.

Clearly you need to expand your definition of cool. What was that Ben said about nerd culture being totally mainstream now?

You are so, so right. Clearly I'm the one out of the zeitgeist.
