This month's update
So since last update and this update, I've been spend a bit less time on ffxi and more time on downloaded offline games. :D Mainly RBO(Ragnarok Battle Offline) and Plants vs Zombies(a small turret defense game). But there have been some things that were changing online for me and I've decided to quit ffxi for a bit(no I'm not going to be playing 14 at launch). So this might be the last or second to last post I'll have about ffxi. :]
Since I don't know/talk to anyone in znm shell outside of runs, I didn't bother to ask any of them to do some lowmans. Cia and I would sometimes duo marids whenever I had pops for it but I decided to try something new so we bought borers(read: 3 for me and 1 for him).
Kiting it is easy as hell. Cia had the bright idea of switching to /nin and it increased our kill time by a lot, still about 20-30mins/ea though since each kill we had ele or moth aggro from pull. Seriously, this can be solo'd by anyone so long as you can pop without aggro and not magic aggro the eles that can pop in kite camp(most east side of map). Znm shell sure had fun popping my 3dahaks. :D
So I have been planning to do penguin with Cia for about a day and then didn't say anything for about 4days cause I forgot he had dyna and other times he was playing pokemans/leveling with Nagi and I didn't want to disturb him. So I decided to try soloing it. The pull was pretty annoying because it would deaggro every ~30ft it ran and I had to bring it through about 6-8hearing aggro + 1sight aggro to the place I wanted it to be. I eventually lost it and went back to get a 2nd pop. This time things were going fine until about ~50% when I screwed up, I rested a bit too far from it while it was in the running away phase and it deaggro'd while running back to me behind the gate so I had to use the fang key and go pull it back from spawn again while it regened to 100%. This was the most horrible screw up I could've done. It took me about 30mins to get it down to 50% the 1st time because I was about to use poison2, bio2, burn, choke, and shock; I didn't use nukes because I couldn't rest for long periods yet until it started to use HF during ~<55%. The mistake I made costed me poison and the elemental dots around 80%. So I had to do the entire ~30% with only bio2 and drain to save mp for nukes later on. There were the occasional ES+burn, looking back I should've went with poison2 instead. This entire solo took me about 3hrs, would've been about an hour though if I hadn't screwed up. Suggest to go /nin if you can pull it without aggroing anything, after a few circles you should get a rough idea of when you can turn it without using stun and not get hit, unless you want the fast cast which does help in a way but the shadows might help you overcome the slower casting speed for your tier 3 nukes, tier 4 isn't going to be fast enough without further timing of yawn phases.
This solo was really easy, a lot easier than borer because there is no aggro in the zone but it was longer because of his high defense. A rdm cor duo the night before took about 1hr 30m, my solo took about 2hr 24m(I think). Same way as I did penguin, bio2+poison2+burn+shock+choke, no drain because it never did any damage, and kite around the inner square(portals). ES poison2 when I could after it was resisting everything. Took one hit because I wasn't paying attention to casting a burn. I had forgotten my af hands so I might've been able to shorten kill time by about 8-10m(+me forgetting ES existed). If I had wanted something from tyger, I'd probably still be doing penguin/robot solos/duos but as it stands, tyger is a fucking bitch and the less I have to run to it + kill it, the happier I'll be.
I still say Sarameya has about 35-42k hp. I can't get a good estimation when it can still spam spikes(helps it regen 1%/tic) and people not dispelling it. The latest one we did I broke 5k total damage, but it was still less on parse because it had spikes on for about 15s=5% regen'd, and that lowered my %dmg done to ~10% and raised Vand's by about 5-6%(~20%). Probably 2nd or 3rd in parse, Squall was doing some nice MSWSes. Doubt any of the other mnks were beating me, the sam might've though wasn't really counting his damages. My mistake was forgetting I was /war and therefore didn't berserk. >.>
Now the only thing left to stay for is mog bonanza, maybe staying for the next few sarameyas, and a smaller chance for Aerix's novio, would like to see atleast one of us get it...sea has been pissing me off lately with people not showing up, leading to canceled JoLs and constant ixaerns, fucking shit sucks. Was a lot better while low manning some things with Daim's group pretty frequently instead of doing only 1day/week. >.> Must've been retarded when I joined.
Finally got all of the figurines on RE5, was missing about 2-3trophies(combo+4eggs) that doesn't require Versus mode and now I have to start allllll over again when I buy my own copy or something cause capcom gayed us and doesn't let you copy the game saves. Tried Bad Company and it was alright, less headache than other FPS games atleast.
To end the night, Lakers won.
