Hmm...posting? SHOCKING!

I've not used this thing for a wee while, but figured I'd have a quick update of things. Just for records sake type thingies mostly. Though I fear I'm so rusty that not only do a creak BUT I've forgotten most of the funky thingies - cuts and people's names and the like.

Also, I can remember when the internet was nothing but fields, and when getting shillings for pocket money was normal. Youngsters these days, no respect (etc).

Anyhow. Work is going okay - it's pretty busy here (he says, drifting online - though tis my dinner!) and despite having about double the applications of last year I'm doing 2 days a week updating, maintaining, creating and destroying websites. Which is interesting. I may have to consider some sort of new working direction (though I like working for the university - which is conveniently close to where I live).

Health is still good; I'm a bloater, which doesn't seem to be shifting, but I've also got fairly good health generally and so I can't complain too much. Sadly my new-year exercise regime has somewhat fallen down (I've failed to get to dancing for a few weeks now, due to an assortment of things but most especially being knackered by a Thursday). I've come to the conclusion that Tango isn't for me (I'd need to hang around work for 2 hours after work, and I don't enjoy it enough) and I'm not as keen on Fencing as I'd like to be (not enough to spend the money on the kit...which I think underlines that I'm not so worried!). Lindy hop is great fun though; really need to get back to going and getting my swing on!

Teeth have been an issue for me for a long while now - I've a fear of dentists and I've let that rule me to the point that now I've got it nearly sorted (one more rotten tooth to come out) I've more room in my gums...but it's been a lot of work, many visits, and quite a lot of discomfort...though the dentist lady has been really, really good and helpful and nice - she's done a lot to help me get over my fear (though I'm not there yet!).

House works well - we're signing up for another year in stately Pie Manors (other names are available and, indeed, used), after my ace negotiation skills saved us £150 in fees. Awwww yeah! Who (is) the man?! Finances, too, are okay - though not as good as they could be - and I need to get back on top of that. I'm trying to build some savings whilst having a lifestyle I enjoy...I'm getting part of it right at least!

Travel is something I still love - will be hitting Belgium later this month and, depending on how expensive that is, might well be hitting Italy later in the year too (which I'm rather nervous about actually!). Spend a lot of weekends going all over the place too, with more and more LRP/LARP as well as re-enactment and living history, especially in the West Midlands! I'll be doing Aston Hall by Candlelight again come Christmas so if you're in the area come and have a look see; it's not cheap but it is a good night (I think) and helps BMAG (Birmingham Museum's and Art Galleries) bring some money in to keep them free/let them put great events on.

Food (and drink) still remains my first love - I'm really positive about my marigold tart, and the lemon version went down well at work today :D I won't be embarrassed to bring it along to an event, and if you're coming over I might even be convinced to try it out again...turns out 100g of dried petals is quite a lot!

Costuming, my second love, is...out of hand. I really need to get some help so I can make more than just a start on making my kit database, to organise it all, and sort myself out. I'm really starting to drown in fabric (including some armour now, yay!) but hey ho!

I went out on Wednesday to see Richard Herrin (for the second time) and he was funny; I should really keep an eye on the Glee club and start going out more regularly. It's nice to pop out and see things!
