Weekend Insurrection
I was at Insurrection (a small/mid sized LRP) over the weekend, crewing my third event there (event 4) and had a good time. The variety of plotlines/NPC factions/groups/peoples was impressive - as was some of the off-scene RP between NPC/crew (when we had no idea where the players were and the short briefs, sometimes for "combat encounters" ended up with fairly well realised characters). We even had elite Orcish shock troops making poetry;
"Mum's axe can do Sever,
that's cos she is big an' clever!"
The site was fairly hard work going up and down hill but had a lot of things which could be done with it (and which was done with it), with all sorts of different flavours of encounter. I hope the players had as good a time as the crew seemed to - it was nice being kept busy without being victims to "hurry up and wait", it was also very nice to have Refs saying "thanks" at various times over the weekend.
...is it good that I was accused of being "very creepy"?
