Confuzzlement

I just had to send a business email to someone, within my company, who has the same first name as me.

I'm pretty sure this is the first time that's ever happened. And for some reason, it feels really weird.

Haha, oh man, I know that feeling... at one of the places I used to work, there was another "Marty" who was a supervisor in the repairs department... and I mean, I never really think of my name as being all that uncommon, but I always have NUMEROUS people say to me, "Wow, that's an unusual name to hear nowadays!" Well, I guess people figured having one "Marty" to deal with was their limit, because after I started working there, NOBODY could EVER get the two of us straight. And we kept getting each other's e-mails within the company, and we'd have to reply to all and CC: each other and send it back with a comment like, "You probably meant to send this to the OTHER Marty..."

So, if you think it's weird now, just think: somewhere in the company, this guy is talking to HIS friends, and referring to YOU as "the other" one... XD

Alternatively, you could just start signing all your company e-mails as "Rikoshi", hahaha!

You know, as it is, there have been several occasions here at work (as recently as just last week!) where I've come this close to sending an email before realizing that I've signed my name as 'Rikky.'

Thus far, I've always caught it before actually clicking 'Send,' but the day I finally slip is all to inevitable, I feel.

(And yes, it's always 'Rikky' in these instances, not 'Rikoshi.' I'm not sure why.)

I think it is less weird in comparison to when your first name is the same for five other people in your grade school class and you all have a last name that begins with the same letter.

I have gone to look for myself. If I should happen by before I return, please ask me to wait.
