Furry Writing Update

Here are a few things related to furry writing that I thought I might bring up:

There's now an official New Fables website. For those of you who aren't familiar with it, this is a more 'literary' furry fiction journal that's published yearly. While not exactly 'reaching' for more mainstream appeal, I think that it certainly has more of a mainstream appeal, while also still remaining firmly within the grounds that furry readers will still appreciate. In addition to stories, they also run essays and poetry. It's got kind of a low profile compared to a lot of other furry publications, though, and I think that more furry readers (and writers!) should be aware of it. Now that they've got an actual website, maybe folks can get a better idea of what it's all about.

Also, there's a furrybookreview community that's out there, which has disappointingly few members. I think perhaps that a lot of people simply aren't aware of it. If anyone's interested in that sort of thing, do consider swinging by; we need more content input from people!

There's a review of Thousand Leaves that was posted there recently, which makes me very happy. (Don't worry, there are no spoilers!)

Speaking of Thousand Leaves, I will say that I'm busily at work on a follow-up novel. It's not a sequel, but it does share a common setting (and maybe a few other small tie-ins snuck in there, as well). I think I'm a little further than halfway through my first draft (it's hard to tell exactly how far in I am, since I haven't finished writing it yet), but I seem to have hit a good clip after setting it on hiatus for a few months. More updates on that when I have them.

writing, thousand leaves
