Remix Recs, Take 2

Okay, while I wait for stores to open so that I can attempt this blindingly stupid story I've been assigned, have more recs!

1) Apparition No. 12 (The Scientific Method Remix) (Harry Potter)
Everyone and her dog's recced this one. Because it's good. It's a very sweet look at Hermione and through her at Sirius and Remus. But really, Hermione is the star in this one, and she is so lovingly characterized that I forget about Emma Watson and her tendency to play "bitch" where the script said "nerd".

I'm also going to rec the original Apparition No. 12 by krabapple because it looks a little more deeply at Sirius and Remus and is written in a really lovely way. And also because I love the last scene so, so much.

2) Photograph (You're the Only One I Wanna Touch Remix) (Harry Potter)
It helps that it's a remix of one of my favourite stories by mackittenx, Photograph, but the remix is beautiful in its own right. It's really cute and a little sad, and I particularly like the explanation given for how Sirius got the photo album. (Because I am developing a weakness for prissy-pureblood-scion!Sirius in my old age!)

3) Sleeping With Ghosts (I'll Have What He's Having Remix), remix of Sleeping with Ghosts by Grace (Harry Potter)
Because it makes me make big wibbly face and shout, "Oh, Tonks" which is not something I ever expected to do post-HBP. It's just a terribly, painfully incisive story about Tonks, and it's got the kind of cruel irony in places that has always really, really appealed to me.
"She keeps waiting for someone to discover her where she's hiding, to frame her face and say, 'That's it, you're the girl I've been looking for.' For someone to say, 'Don't change. I like you as you are.' She waits long and hard for Remus to invite her in."
4) Learning To Fly (Is Like Falling Remix), remix of Symbiosis by Dana Woods (Firefly)
Mal/Kaylee is not my pairing of choice, so I was caught off guard by how much I liked this story. And maybe that has a lot to do with how the Mal/Kaylee aspect is really secondary to the just Kaylee part of the story. It's written in an absolutely incredible voice, and it hurts so damn much, except for the parts where it made me laugh, and isn't that just Firefly through and through? I especially like the bits we get about Wash and Kaylee and their friendship.
