Hey, everyone! Hope you are having a happy Friday, after a very nice Thursday. I had a wonderful Christmas day and am settling in for an equally lazy Boxing Day, which will probably involve video games and writing and working my way down my to-read list of
Yuletide stories.
SPEAKING OF WHICH. I GOT THE BEST YULETIDE STORY EVER. Like, I realize that the whole idea of Yuletide is that someone is writing a story for you, but my story this year makes it so obvious how well my Yuletide writer gets me. It was totally designed down to the last detail to make me giggle and squeak and grin like a loon.
It's
the Days and Nights of Martin Ulrich (Young Avengers, Billy/Teddy), and it is wooooonderful. It's a really great look at their relationship in the early days, but in this really defined, small space (read it! you will see what i mean!). AND GOD THE CHARACTERIZATION. They are boys! They banter! Billy is wonderful and impatient and snarky. And Teddy. Oh, man. The story purports to focus on Billy -- because it is predominantly Teddy's POV and WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE IN TEDDY ALTMAN'S HEAD -- and on the doorman at the Kaplan's apartment complex, but it is really all brilliant insight into who Teddy is. (And how Teddy Altman is that, in and of itself.)
Anyway. I love it. I love it so much. SLEEPY BILLY KAPLAN. TEDDY SENDING LOLCAT TEXT MESSAGES TO ANNOY BILLY. KISSING IN AN ELEVATOR. So good. ♥♥♥
