Dear Yuletide Writer,
Well, first off, I think you are a million different varieties of awesome for having a fandom in common with me, whichever one it might be. I don't like being too specific in my request because, honestly, if it is one of these fandoms and includes the characters I asked for, I WILL LOVE IT NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
So, seriously, first and foremost, I'd like you to have fun.
In general, I like: banter, silliness and humour, awkward romance, being best friends above all else, charming gay domesticity, case!fic, fighting crime, girls in uniform, (heck! boys in uniform), stories with a bittersweet vibe, stories about growing up, stories about family, getting together stories, ridiculous AUs.
Usually, I'd also add that I am not a huge fan of porn, but it just so happens that this year I requested two pairings (Young Avengers and Monstrous Regiment requests) where I would be totally more than pleased to read about the characters in any of the various stages of getting it on. I still generally prefer there to be more story than sex though, and sex thrown in just to be like OH LOOK SEX is not my favourite thing.
In general, I don't like: a preponderance of angst, "dark" stories, kinks (especially BDSM, noncon, scat, MISUSE OF SHAPESHIFTING POWERS).
I'll also note that where I have really strongly specified a preferred pairing, it's because I OTP those people pretty hard. If you don't like the pairing and want to write something gen with one or both, please feel free to do that.
Some specific notes, in case you're looking for more direction:
Runaways - Molly Hayes
I love Molly something fierce, and the pith of my request comes down to I WOULD LIKE MOLLY TO HAVE AN ADVENTURE IN WHICH SHE KICKS ASS. This could be an epic adventure or an adventure that doesn't really look like an adventure or a "day in the life of". Honestly, I am open to all interpretations of that idea. I just think she is one of the best things ever, and my life needs more of her in it.
As a side note, if my pairing suggestion FROM LEFTFIELD maybe you freak out, please feel free to ignore it entirely. I put it out there on the off-chance it might intrigue you, but it is in no way crucial to me loving the heck out of a Molly story.
Discworld - Monstrous Regiment - Maladict/Polly Perks
OH MY CROSSDRESSING LESBIAN OTP. Ahem. I wish I had more to say, but I mostly just loved their dynamic in the book -- grudging respect mixed with having each other's back mixed with being totally perplexed by each other mixed with vague antagonism -- and I love even more that the book left it wide open for the Continuing Adventures of Maladict and Polly. Which is what I'm asking for really. But, yes, anything where they snipe at each other and are the tough, ass-kicking ladies that they are will win my heart forever.

I will have you know that I have been talking about Billy and Teddy more or less every day since June AND I STILL CAN'T MANAGE TO ADEQUATELY EXPRESS THE DEPTH OF MY LOVE FOR THESE TWO. That might have come through in how my optional comments on the request form were waaaaay less concrete for them than for the above two? YEAH. THIS IS BECAUSE IF IT IS BILLY AND TEDDY AND THEY ARE IN LOVE I AM SOLD. IF IT IS BILLY AND, like, HIS MOM ISSUES (real-mom or soul-mom) OR HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH TOMMY OR HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS POWERS OR HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH KIDS AT SCHOOL, I AM SOLD. OR TEDDY AND HIS ISSUES. ALL ONE HUNDRED MILLION BILLION OF THEM, I AM SOLD. I can't not capslock when I talk about them, sorry. Um. I really don't know what to say. I'm trying to think of a way to be more helpful, but I keep flailing my hands about. If you are really stumped and want more, I have turned off IP logging, and you can leave an anonymous comment, and I'll try to help? I'M SORRY I AM INCOMPETENT YULETIDE WRITER.
