Realizations after watching (500) days of summer.
This may or may not spoil the movie for you. I think it's safer not to read this if you haven't watched it yet :))
1. You can't get over someone if you keep thinking about the happy times together
If you keep thinking about what a waste your relationship was because it could have been the best ever, you're not going to ever get over this person. Look harder. You'll see that there were flaws. Something was wrong. This leads me to...
2. Your ex probably did not break up with you just to spite you.
There are two people in a relationship, and not only your feelings matter. What if he just wasn't happy with you? What if she didn't feel like this was going anywhere? You can't blame all these bad feelings on your ex. There was something wrong, that's why you broke up. Maybe you didn't feel it, but your ex did.
3. God brings couples together.
In the movie, of course, they called it fate or destiny, but I like to believe that it's God who brings people together. And He brings us together for certain reasons.
4. God doesn't always bring couples together because they're meant to be.
Sometimes we end up with people because we're supposed to learn something from the relationship. For example, Summer learned that there is such a thing as love, and Tom learned that just because you love someone a whole lot, it doesn't mean that you're meant to be.
Finally,
5. There is such a thing as love.
Yeah, it may seem like that one illusive thing in life that we can never find, but it's there. We may stop believing in it after a bad break up or after someone turns you down, but it seems to find a way back into our lives and let us believe in it.
