OK - So I mentioned it in passing: the 2nd annual
Craftin' Outlaws alternative craft fair is today at Skully's. VERY cool fair ~ but I sincerely missed my Ney shopping buddy. Steve came along, with a bit of prodding, but he was one of like 3 other guys -- and the only one not pierced, mohawked, or in chains'n'leather. But I got some very cool things...! Tracie - Omi is going to coo! And Bonifa is on her way to Ney, but she doesn't know it yet...
Camping was a sloggy mess. Set up Thursday afternoon at
Paint Creek - the campsite overlooked this large lake - went on a walk, nice evening fire... Got up the next AM, cooked tofu and made some French-pressed
Raven's Brew coffee, much to the complaints of Steve ("You're making too much noise!") As SOON as the tofu was done, the propane on my campstove ran out and the raindrops started to fall. Talk about timing. After running into the tent for the next 6 hours, the rain abated just long enough to skin outta there... which was too bad, because on Thursday we saw tons of ospreys fishing, numerous blue herons, and cormorants diving, and we were just itching to 'yak the water... but it was not to be... ::sigh::
I am so lonely for a girlfriend today that I was almost in tears today... the Penn State vs. Ohio State game is going on here in town, and the focus is FOOTBALL, and I've not felt isolated like this for a long time. Maybe it was that my birthday was a non-event day, which kind of bummed me out - I have this major thing for birthdays and surprises, and it just didn't turn out that way this year. Kidlet wasn't here, no celebration, sloppy wet camping attempt (the only one of the entire year!)... so I'm just kind of feeling sorry for myself. Is this what 37 feels like? I hope it's just a glitch; it's only SATURDAY, for cryin' out loud, and I'm off until Tuesday! C'mon! : )
TTFN...
