Let's talk about how you can actually see how hurt Magnus is when Alec walks away from him (whoever told Magnus that he was too much years and years ago needs to gdiaf) and you can see the exact moment when Alec decides that Magnus is worth it, and that it's scary but he'll try, he'll give them a try. It's like a total acceptance of their pasts and apologies for what almost wasn't and a promise of the future and lskjdkjfkshkshfshf I'm so done with these boys. Honestly.
Magnus is so much larger than life most times, but this season we've really been allowed to see how hurt he's really been over the years and how we'll he's soldiering through life wounded emotionally, and it's really no surprise by now how he chose for more than a century to not feel anything for anyone. However, he decided very early on in season 1 that Alec was worth it and he's chosen to respect the very obvious boundaries that exist between them - see how he doesn't push for Alec to stay even though he probably burns with it, you can see his mouth opening to form the words, but he doesn't? Alec hasn't had a real relationship before and Magnus is not going to be the person that pushes for something Alec isn't ready to give.
And when Alec decides to go for it, Magnus doesn't budge. He doesn't push either, but he's there and solid and making himself as safe for Alec as he possibly can. I love it.
I have so many feelings about these boys and their healthy communication and relationship and, considering the spoilers we've already been given about the next 3+ episodes, I'm just going to float around on happy thoughts. Next episode is apparently them portaling to Japan.
Also, Magnus hustling the shit out of Alec over pool, I'm living xD Ridiculous, competitive boys <3
(Also also, I've been laughing for fifteen minutes straight at the cast having figured out that season one spans 19 days and laughing their asses off over it xD)
