For all of you who saw the preview for "Rich Man, Poor Woman" and thought "FOR GOD'S SAKE, NO MORE MEET-CUTE DRAMAS I WILL BE KILLING MYSELF SOFTLY WITH THIS SONG ", fear not. Here is the summary you never needed in your life. Also, it really is a ridiculously cute drama, so you totally *should* watch it. If nothing else, then for Oguri Shun's priceless facial expressions and Ishihara Satomi's pretty, pretty face. Anyway. I only mock out of love <3
1.
/cue
theme song 2.
This is the Rich Man, Hyuga-san.
3.
This is the Poor Woman, Natsui-san.
4.
Who has friends, but that’s kind of pretty irrelevant for the rest of the drama (idk why we needed to know that)
5.
Rich Man owns the most random company. NEXT INNOVATION. It’ll be mentioned about a million times during the drama. Almost as many times as the theme song plays.
6.
7.
And he regularly makes Employee Of the Year-san cry, but that’s mostly due to him being an asshole.
8.
He also regularly develops Angst. (/cue theme song)
9.
Through really improbable, "would-only-happen-in-film" events, Poor Woman goes to work for Rich Man.
10.
And she falls in love with him. Obviously. Show of hands - who did not see that coming? OUT, you haven't been doing your homework. (/cue theme song)
11.
Rich Man has no friends, he has a slave, Asahina, Creepy Hair-san.
12.
Creepy Hair-san has a creepy sister, who is creepy, but has less creepy hair than Creepy-san. She's pretty cray.
13.
She is also in love with Asshole-san Rich Man-san. Wow, I really did not see that one coming at all.
14.
Which makes Poor Woman-san sad. (/cue theme song)
15.
Then they fight a lot and she doesn’t work for him, and then she does, and then she doesn’t and then she does again, because Creepy Hair-san betrays Rich Man-san.
16.
But Poor Woman-san is loyal and really stunning and Asshole-san Rich Man-san is a stereotypical male lead an emotionally stunted asshole so he doesn’t appreciate her. Naturally.
17.
Until he kind of does and doesn't know how to show it besides his emotionally stunted asshole-ish ways. (/cue theme song)
18.
God, look how *cute* they are ;;__;; Anyway, they build a new company together and then Creepy Hair-san goes to jail for betraying Rich Man-san. And Poor Woman-san finds a new job because she's in love with the asshole and he still doesn't appreciate her. THE ~*SUSPENSE*~
19.
And then she has to go to Brazil for the shining new job. She also doesn’t know how to tell him because she's a decent human being who doesn't want to hurt his feelings. (/cue theme song)
20.
Meanwhile. Creepy Hair-san is redeeming himself by not giving helpful advice from jail. (/cue theme song)
21.
YAY TOMA’S DAD FROM MAOU. Ehem. (/cue theme song)
22.
So Poor Woman-san goes to the airport to leave for the Promised Land Brazil. And Asshole-san shows up and says stupid shit that makes her sad and angry even though it's probably meant to be romantic and make her feel all speshul and shiny. (/cue theme song)
23.
But it’s a drama, so LO AND BEHOLD! Love happens! :D (/cue theme song)
24.
They might be pretty, but they're also the awkwardest protagonists, so awkward happens too! (/cue theme song)
25.
And he says he’s a fucking ninja at communicating, so she can go to Brazil for all he cares, but he grabs her again because he's in looooove~~ (/cue theme song)
26.
THE PRETTY. GOD, LOOK AT HER SO DAMN PRETTY *w* (/cue theme song)
27.
Now, this is the ending: Behind Bars-san Creepy Hair-san comes back to NEXT INNOVATION from his stint in jail. (/CUE EFFING THEME SONG)
28.
And Poor Woman-san comes back from Brazil! ((This scene is also incredibly relevant for the end of the SP, it seriously confused me, hot damn.) (/cue theme song)
29.
THE END. ..until the SP. (/cue theme song)
