Have you posted pics of the cover before? Because I missed it, if so, or I would have been exploding then, and not now.
Your cover is GORGEOUS. I'm totally jaw-dropped.
O_O
No, not even kidding, this is so lovely, and so unbelievably far above the usual sorts of covers, I'm astounded. I just went and looked at Storm Moon's covers, since I haven't seen that many of their books, and they are almost all VERY good. Like, WOW.
I love the translucency on her fingers, and the very Romantic portrait-like cast to her features. I'd love the cover artist's name, if that's okay? I'd love to look up more of their stuff!
AND I AM SO EXCITED FOR THE BOOOOOOK! Will check funds to see if I can afford a bundle, otherwise I'll have to wait until I get my check deposited.
I hadn't posted pics of the cover before, because Storm Moon asked that I not do it until the pre-order link was live. I've been sitting on it since last Wednesday or Thursday and I've been BURSTING.
The cover artist is Lou Harper. I'm THRILLED with her work. She really really got Caroline's face and expression right, and I'm in love with the hands, and I must have driven her NUTS with the uniforms -- "they can't BOTH be blue, one of them's an army officer," and "he's a lieutenant, not a captain, his lapels have to be white," and "okay, I know I said make all the blue parts red on the guy in back, but the 43rd had a white collar, can you do that?" I restrained myself and didn't ask for an epaulette, at least
( ... )
Ohhhhh, her rates are super reasonableeeeeee. And she does FREELANNNNNNNCE. Super-tempting to farm out this next book cover, because I DO NOT WANT TO DO IT. I AM ASKEERD.
Oooh, Rockingham's hair is now right! And Caroline's face looks better--sweeter, perhaps! Also, I love the ship. I can't imagine the detail involved in drawing a ship like that.
The hair's still swapped, actually, but there was no way to make the one in back a blond, and the way the uniforms shook out, making the one in back the Army officer made it a REALLY good approximation of the 43rd's details, whereas the one in front wouldn't have been nearly as close for the 43rd but all it took was making his lapels white to have it be a decently accurate lieutenant's full-dress uniform, plus, the expression on the one in front was much more Thorne yearning for Caroline than anything else, so... I'm happy.
Pretty sure the ship was taken from stock images rather than drawn from scratch for my cover, but that doesn't make me any less thrilled -- it's GORGEOUS and it looks like the Geoff Hunt paintings that are on all the covers of Patrick O'Brian's books, so WIN.

Though I get being askeered. If I could find someone else to write my goddamned blurbs for me, I would be a much happier little author.
