Do you primarily answer prompts in first person, or do you mix it up with some third person every now and then (or maybe you write the majority of your prompts in third)?
I usually default to first person, even if I'm writing a narrative. I tend to shy away from third person simply because first--and to a lesser degree, second--is easier for me. If I feel like I can't write something for the muse in first person successfully, my performance anxiety kills it. The muses I can do this with are usually the ones I know best.
Do you ever write prompts from the first person POV of a supporting character, instead of your protagonist?
I feel like I may have done it once in the past with
animus_nocendi but it's not some thing I do regularly.
What do you feel are the benefits or drawbacks of writing in your favored point of view?
Writing in first person gives me a feeling of really knowing my muse. For me, it's proof I know my character. And for some reason, I feel like I write better in this voice, probably because I'm not second guessing anything. But, you are limited to whatever action is taking place where your character is. And he might not be aware of everything a third person narrator would know.
Bonus points if you've ever answered a prompt in the tricky second person!
