Last night we got new Elementary and new Person of Interest. My cup runneth over
- So what did happen between the last ep and this one to make the kitchen and the rest of the house look as if a bomb had hit? After all Joan had been living with Sherlock for the past 5 weeks and this is the first time the issue has come up.
- For some reason I'm charmed by the maids arguing about the missing yogurt.
- Bell certainly put on his snarky pants today. I'm still pretty sure, that he doesn't know about Sherlock's drug problem. That will be ugly when he finds out.
- Sherlock is a lot more abrasive and even asshole-ish than usual. Even more emphatic with his body language as well. Might it be that Watson leaving has him a bit stressed?
- Go Joan for calling Sherlock on the misogyny of his "whore fishing". It seemed out of character to me, too. So far Sherlock has never spoken of or treated prostitutes as worth less due to their jobs. So this didn't ring true.
- On the other hand, the scene with the call girl at the hotel was awesome. Joan WFT face when she was handed the card while Sherlock was all intrigued was gold.
- I could take or leave the whole spy part of the plot, but I wish they wouldn't have given the daughter that pain pill addiction. Sure, it made for an easy way for Joan to connect with her, but Joan would have given the daughter her number even if the girl hadn't been a recovering addict. It just felt superfluous to me.
- So Joan got a new client. I guess that means next week's ep will be with the two of them separated and Sherlock coping less than well. His face when he called her "my dear Watson" and claimed to be ok. Gregson and Bell a in for a hellish week next week.
I liked this ep a lot. Really a lot. Undercover Finch is always fun, but this time it was all Finch all the time.
- Oh, Harold. Still with the bird aliases.
- "Math is not a punishment." Oh, Harold.
- That speech about pi was a lovely insight into Harold's mind. So far we've been shown that Finch is really good at what he does, but we rarely get to see that he loves what he does. There were the bits when he was training with the Machine in the early days, but that was more a proud papa relishing in what his clever kid can do. This went a lot deeper.
- Harold's little smile when he overheard the IT class talking about the hacker that got away and when he gave Caleb coding pointers. So gorgeous.
- "Take it from someone who thought that leaving would make it easier on everyone... and then learned otherwise." Oh god, Harold. Way to break my heart here. ... So was that about leaving Grace after whatever killed Nathan, or was that about turning invisible sometime after MIT when Nathan became your corporate beard.
- Watching Harold and Fusco working so closely together was lovely. They've all come so far.
- I'm almost feeling sorry for Agent Donnelly. He's basically where Carter was at the beginning of the show, just trying to do what he thinks is right and wanting to catch a dangerous criminal. I doubt though that Finch and Reese will recruit him as well
