"Sticky Buns"
According to the Holland Herald’s recent online survey (the happy-go-lucky in-flight magazine); one of the top three pet names to call a partner is “sticky buns.” The other top two phrases were the conventional “babe” and “sweetheart.”
“Sticky buns,” I really don’t know how I would react if someone ever called me that. I can imagine that my reaction would involve some form of sudden head twitch and a use of some serious evil eye glares (or simply a spray of verbal abuse).
What exactly does this phrase mean, how is it endearing? My twisted mind goes either to some kind British bakery treat or straight to the gutter. Hmm, yeah no!
P.S. To all of my loved ones, I made it back to Norway just fine (or as some fondly call it, Nordic-Land).
While backing up in the driveway sitting behind my parents it felt like I had never even left. Almost like this semester had never even happened and that we were just returning back from the grocery store. This was not a pleasant thought, however much I do love that grocery store. :-)
