Thursday was tiring and busy. Biked into and out of town eight times, which was resented. The APUSH dinner at Tarcisio's was... interesting. I *heart* those kids. Still, getting that close causes weird tensions. Claire, Renae, and I went to the Buzz and tried to review some more.
Friday was WONDERFUL! At the time, I thought the APUSH test was easy! I was so sure I was getting a five. Now I'm thinking I was overconfident... oy. I won't go into details; you'd find it boring. Anyways, I'm glad it's done and the important thing is what I learned, not a silly standardized test.
After that, I skipped school for the first time. Granted, I had my parent's blessing and all but three APUSH kids did, but still. We all went to Oak Table for lunch. We are such an odd group! So square, but with hidden pockets of creative rebellion. Our waiter was funny, we all shared food, and we're working on a parting gift to Mr. O.
Seven of us didn't feel like going back to school, so we car pooled to a bend of the river I'd never been to before. Let's see, there was Claire, Kira, Mylece, Kelsey, Kai, Heather, and Kevin. The two guys and I jumped in. (They were wimps. Ha.) The others sunbathed and we just looked up every once in a while and said, "I bet the people in school are having SO much fun right now".
Claire and I walked to my house and saw Spiderman III. Sorry to anyone who really liked it... we couldn't stop laughing. So cheesy! Checked my email to find out that I'd been ACCEPTED TO WORK AT FIRWOOD!! (Sorry, but caps lock of righteousness are justified.) I still can't quite believe it. Miranda and her friend Sara played Apples to Apples together. It's impossible to keep that game clean. Anywho, Claire spent the night to study for the AP Bio test.
Didn't get much of that done today. We just talked non-stop. When was the last time I did that? Both basically bared our souls... a wee bit uncomfortable at times. Now I realize I've been with Claire for almost fifty hours consecutively. Also, haven't seen any people outside of family and APUSH for at least that long.
Do we really have more school? It really feels like Summer has started. I finally understand why people are nostalgic for high school. All they remember must be like this weekend has been for me. This next year and a half will probably be the free-est of my life. A toast to living it up! Things are just moving too fast for my taste. I'd really rather take things one at a time. Emily, I hear you saying, "Can't win 'em all"! Here goes... everything.
